Proverbs 3:1-2
1. My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2. For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Reflections on the Word... "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16
Proverbs 3:1-2
1. My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2. For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
Psalm 139:7-10
7. Whither shall I go from thy spirit or whither shall I flee from thy presence.
8. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10. Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
"Be careful for nothing" (Philippians 4:6).
"Rejoice in the Lord alway" (Philippians 4:4)
What sweeping words, leaving us without excuse for not being happy!
For "nothing" takes in everything, and "always" leaves no time out, only it must be "in the Lord."
(J.N. Darby)
